AAU 15 & under National Tournament Day One Recap

The first day of games are complete from the 15& under nationals here in Northeast Tennessee. Let's get you caught up on who we saw. All players are class of 2006 unless noted.
We started the day by watching YOMCA Team Memphis down the Texas Ambassadors 88-58. Team Memphis broke open their 12 point lead after 3 quarters to win going away. Memphis was led by Pierre Niles who had 17, and Willie Kemp who added 14. The Ambassadors were paced by San Antonio Jay WF Shawn Rouse who poured in 19 points and added 6 rebounds. Corpus Christi Calallen BF Will Paul chipped in 10 points , 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Pflugerville PG Bryan Beasley added 8 points and 6 rebounds and Bryan WF Leslie Jackson tallied 7 points. Team Memphis controlled the glass all morning long.
Next, we slid over and caught the Houston Hoops down the Del Val Hoops Peacemakers 76-71. Del Val was on all night long, holding a 5 point lead with 3 minutes to go. The Hoops came back down the stretch and knocked down their foul shots to win the game. Ft. Bend Hightower PG Nic Wise led the way with 17 points and 7 assists. Jersey Village BF Chris Rocquemore added 10 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Others coming up big for the Hoops were Hightower BF Darris Santee ( 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks), Spring Westfield WF Pierre Beasley (10 points and 8 rebounds), Aldine PG Brandon Brown (13 points 4 rebounds) and Humble WG Jerrod Johnson (10 points). Del Val was led by WG Wayne Ellington who poured in 20 and F Lavine Grimes who added 19.
We caught up next with the Dallas Mustangs who had leads as big as 14 points over the Miami City Ballers, but faded down the stretch and lost 77-62. The Ballers were led by G Edwin Rios who poured in 27. The Mustangs were paced by Dallas Seagoville WG Donald Sloan who had 20. Duncanville PG Marcus Brister added 16. The Mustangs struggled big time from the foul line shooting under 50%, while the Ballers made 15 free throws in the second half alone.
In the 1:30 game we caught the Metro Mustangs topple the Oakland Rebels 66-47. Metro was led by Arlington Sam Houston F Donauld Bell who had 10 points and 6 rebounds. Irving G/F Adron "Pooh" Tennell added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Oakland was led by G David Singleton's 14 and F Kendell McCree's 10.
In the 3 o'clock game All Ohio Red downed the Jax Lee Bulls 70-55. All Ohio was led by WG James Dews' 21 points. The Lee Bulls were paced by the 3 point shooting of Zach Paterick (17 points, 5 threes) and Gary Neavins ( 14 points, 4 threes).
At 4: 30 the Arkansas Wings won a big decision over Team Houston Black 75-57. The Wings were led by F Arbry Butler's 13 points and WG Kenneth Thompson's 11. For Team Houston, Alief Elsik F Reggie Shanks led the way with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Alief Elsik F "Sash" Chachere added 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Houston Westbury Christian G/F Greg Burton had 11 and G James Ewing added 8 points and 5 assists.
In the last game of the night, the Houston Westside All Stars watched their double digit lead disappear and lost to the KC Nets 70-60. Westside was led by Angleton PG Brandon Roberson's 13, Angleton F Keith Tosten's 14 and F Jordan Alexander's 12.
Houston Swoosh downed the Chicago Jaguars 96-84. Houston Jones G Harrison Smith had 30 points and 7 rebounds, Clear Creek G/F Lance added Pevehouse 17 points (4 threes) and 5 assists, and Clear Lake F Justin Kurtz tallied 17 points and 4 rebounds.

Florida "Magic" Hoops defeated the Georgia Stars Blue.
The dunk of the day belonged to Houston Hoops F Chris Rocquemore of Jersey Village. The 6-8 Rocquemore caught the rock on the break took a hard couple of dribbles and leaped almost completely over a 6-5 Del Val Hoops player for the left handed slam. Posterized. Nasty just nasty.
