AAU Nationals Day 3 Recap

The day 1 and day 2 recaps are below. Bracket play has begun and quite a few upsets took place on this day. Here's the action we caught

Team NCI Hoopstars Elite 80        Sacramento Cougars 58

He was followed in double digits by two Pearland players, guard Guy Henderson (16 points) and F Andy Dillon (10 points and 7 rebounds). NCI will play tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm against the Rockland Rockets of New York.

Nike Team Florida 63        Charlotte Royals 56

Team Richmond 92        Florida Elite 91-- OT

In a thrilling game Richmond came from behind to down Florida Elite. Richmond 2003 G Andre Ingram, who is signed and will play at American University in the fall, was unreal. The young member of the 2003 class, Ingram had a game high with 42 points including several game saving shots for Richmond. He made 6 threes on the day. His teammate Tyree Evans chipped in 31. Florida Elite was led by 2005 Winter Haven F A.J. Jones who had 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Tampa King G Marquis McCullough and Tampa Gaither G Antonio Russell each had 20 points.

Schaumburg Illinois First Class 77        Gold Coast Florida 56

First Class pounded Gold Coast in this one, running out to a lead as large as 28 points. Gold Coast was led by 2005 Lake Mary G Darryl Merthie's 19 points. First Class was paced by Bryan Mead and Jonathan Reibel each of whom had 19 points.

Louisiana Select 64        Illinois Rising Stars 63

Illinois Wolves 16's- 98    Tallahassee Wildcats 91- 2 ot

'04 Guard Darius Washington had close to 30 before fouling out. Taurean Green also fouled out. G Sead Odzic had 7 three pointers for Illinois and assisted Mason Stewart on the game winning three. The margin was large because the Wildcats were assessed 3 technicals after a charging foul was called on Cornelius Ingram. The Wildcat coach chased after the referees, and had to be escorted out as he continued to push the Disney folks trying to get to the refs.

San Antonio Bulls play the Westfield Rams (NJ) tommorrow morning at 8:30 am.
